From The Principal
As usual this term has been incredibly busy with many great things happening in our school.
A picture is certainly worth a thousand words and the image above highlights some of the weather experiences we’ve also endured this term! Thanks to staff and students for all that they’ve done to maintain the safety of students while ensuring all educational programs continued as per normal, despite the extreme weather conditions.
There are many people we need to thank at the end of this term, including the following people who have gone above and beyond to support our school. Firstly, I would like to thank Jodie Gaul and Alison Tegg who have both shared the School Business Manager (SBM) role while Brenda our SBM was on leave. Both ladies have done an outstanding job. It is important to also thank Rachael Wells, Principal of Risdon Vale Primary for allowing Jodie to join our team this term and support Alison as SBM. Rachael was kind enough to release Jodie in a part-time capacity, so that we could continue to run the school with an SBM in place.
Huge thanks go to Mrs. Broadbent for organising such a great Swimming and Water Safety Program again this year. Thanks also goes to our hardworking School Association for once again supporting this important initiative. Students again benefitted from additional access to this program, ensuring more young people can be safe around or near water.
Once again, our School Association delivered! This small group of dedicated parents have successfully undertaken many fundraising events, all in support of students and staff at LNPS. They have also ensured that the community had opportunities to come together to acknowledge and celebrate those important people in their lives by conducting the Father’s Day or Special person’s day breakfast BBQ. On this occasion I was again reminded of what a great community this one is and, I’m certain that those people in attendance concur with this.
Thanks also goes to all those parents and carers who took time to complete the School Satisfaction Survey. This enables us to collect responses, review them and modify what we can in response to your feedback. Thank you for your efforts with this, as always it is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all those people, staff, students and parents who have made the many important school initiatives like the Tournament of Minds, Student Parliament and our school Debating Team such huge successes. These learning opportunities are impossible to access and provide to students, without the support of all of you. While there are too many to name individually, your time and efforts are greatly appreciated and the impact your efforts are keenly seen in the results and the smiles on student’s faces. Again, thank you one and all.
Many thanks go to teachers at LNPS for the work they undertook to prepare examples of evidence of learning and their participation in the recent three-way conversations. The time, the shared conversations, the learning, and the collective celebrations of student achievement are amazing! Thanks staff and parents for continuing to work together so diligently.
Finally, I would like to wish all members of the LNPS community a happy and safe holiday break and we look forward to seeing you again next term with more sunshine and warmer days. School resumes on Monday 14 October.

Term 4 - Hats and Sunscreen
Hats are required next term for all outdoor activities and breaks. Students are required to wear broad rimmed hats; not caps. Hats can be purchased from our uniform supplier, Lowes at Eastlands, or via Qkr! or in person at our school office for $17.95. Bucket hats are reversible with house colours and available in a range of sizes.
Each classroom has been supplied with sunscreen which students will be encouraged to apply before going outdoors. Students are also welcome to bring their own named sunscreen to school instead, if they prefer an alternate brand or are sensitive to the brand located in classrooms. Please see the ingredients listing below.
Thank you to Terry White Chemmart Lindisfarne for the donation of sunscreen to all classrooms. Please support this business for supporting us.

5/6H TMAG Banner
5/6H were among 15 other schools who have been getting creative and have painted a canvas that will be hung outside of TMAG during the upcoming school holidays.
It was truly a collaborative process with students submitting design ideas to Miss Hansen who then combined them to create an original design to fit this year's theme To the Max!
We are really happy with the finished design and look forward to seeing it hanging up in town. Keep an eye out when you’re driving by!
There looks to be some really interesting events going on during the October break that you can check out the program at Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery | Events (tmag.tas.gov.au).
Schools Triathlon Challenge
This is an optional activity for Year 3-6 students. The office staff are currently finalising any outstanding $25 payments from students who submitted their entry forms by the closing date last week.
No late entries can be accepted as our school will be submitting our entrants' information to the organisers by the end of this term.
Further information about the event can be found at Schools Triathlon Challenge.
CPSBP Annual Concert Tickets
Tickets for the Combined Primary Schools Band annual concert can now be purchased. The event will be held on Friday 22 November at My State Bank Arena.
Hobart City Mission Drive
The Student Parliament are organising a Hobart City Mission Drive and are collecting donations.
Levy Payment Reminder
As we approach the end of the school year with one term remaining, this is a reminder that school levy payments that were invoiced at the start of the year are now overdue. Payments can be made in full or by paying regular instalments at the school office in person via EFTPOS or cash, over the phone or via BPAY.
When paying your account online use the code that relates to each child rather than using only one account number for all account payments. Thank you.

School Association News
Thank you Terry White Chemmart Lindisfarne for supporting Lindisfarne North Primary School.
They have generously donated sunscreen for students and staff to enable us to be a SunSmart school.
Pictured below are Shane and Grace from Terry White with Madeline from Prep. Please support Terry White Chemmart Lindisfarne for your pharmacy needs.
Thank you Woolworths Lindisfarne for sponsoring our Father's Day / Special Person's breakfast recently! Woolworths donated sausages, bread and sauce to our breakfast. We thank you for your support! The event was well attended by the LNPS community, over 300 sausages were served.
The Swimming and Water Safety Program for our Prep to Year 2 students is not funded by the Government. Traditionally the LNPS Association has raised and donated roughly $8000 each year to fill this shortfall. We feel this has been a valuable investment in our children and their safety. If you agree, please consider getting involved with the School Association by either volunteering for a formal role on the committee or offering to help when we call for volunteers for individual events. The current level of engagement and volunteering make raising funds for the Water Safety program and larger projects like the basketball court resurfacing challenging. There are two more committee meetings scheduled for the year - Monday 28 October and Monday 2 December and we'd love to see some new faces join us.
